Another Fundraiser Spotlight

A great email we just received from Karen… Our family held a Family Reunion two weeks ago in Richmond, Virginia. During the reunion, we had a Silent Auction to raise money to donate to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in honor our Mother who passed away from cholangiocarcinoma on 12/10/2011. Andrea Remembered

Fundraiser Spotlight: Andrea Remembered On January 10th, held the fourth annual “Andrea’s Night at the Discovery Lodge”. More than 500 people were in attendance to celebrate her life and raise funds for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation and the Andrea M. Fuquay Memorial Scholarship at the University of Southern Indiana. This year, the “Andrea’s Night at the Saloon” event raised $132,000. Attendees bid on 33 live auction and 225 silent auction items donated by local businesses and individuals. In total, has raised $250,000 towards “The Andrea M. Fuquay Memorial Scholarship” as well as $80,000 for bile duct cancer research.... read more

The 2014 Journey for Jo 5K Run/Walk & Kids Dash

Who was Jo Bryant? Jo Bryant was a healthy, working teacher and a very involved mother and grandmother when she went to the doctor for back pain.  (She taught for 43 years, up until the day she was hospitalized.)  After tests and a biopsy, a week later, she was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma.  Her health quickly deteriorated.  She died three weeks after her diagnosis, on the way to a doctor appointment.  Her sudden death was so shocking to her family, friends, and students.  My sister and I (Julia & Kate) started the Jo Bryant Memorial Foundation shortly after her death to raise awareness and funds for CC.
