Lauren is a Research Assistant and Patient Care Coordinator in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Johns Hopkins. She received her BS from Clemson University and is aspiring to attend medical school in the near future. Lauren’s primary research interests include the role of multidisciplinary care in improving quantity and quality of life in patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. Her experience with cholangiocarcinoma from clinical, research, and caregiver perspectives facilitate Lauren’s unique contribution to improving the lives of those affected with cholangiocarcinoma.
Lauren began volunteering with the Foundation after her father passed away from intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma in June 2014. She volunteers her time towards a variety of activities from Social Media and organizing fundraising efforts to grant writing and coordinating the Poster Session at our Annual Conference.
