Cait Telaak’s world was rocked in November, 2015 when she was diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. An otherwise healthy 28-year-old at the time, she was recently married and looking forward to starting life with her new husband and best friend. Instead the couple embarked on a cancer journey that took them from Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO to the University of Rochester in Western NY and more recently to Cleveland Clinic. She is grateful for all that the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation has offered to help her navigate this new reality, and she is enjoying the chance to give back through the various volunteer opportunities she is a part of with the Foundation.
Outside of cancer-land Cait is a reporting analyst by trade, her husband is a dairy farmer, and together the couple lives on their dairy farm located in Western NY. In addition to their roughly 900 cows, they have three dogs and three cats to keep them company.
