Bill & Kathleen, I’m so sorry things have progressed to hospice. 5 1/2 years of battling this disease my heart goes out to you both. Kathleen I wish you what you deserve……. Lots of family love and comfort……. God Bless you and the whole family!

I also was not to anxious to get involved with hospice for my father David Cook because I felt it we were giving up on him. I was devastated to say the least. They made him very comfortable and told us what was going on. He was at a facility which everyone in the family could stay with him 24 hours without leaving. He was surrounded by everyone and in no pain. He just went asleep, peacefully.
On the other had, a friend of mine mother went into hospice at least 3 times, started eating, talking and returned home.
So I merely looked at it like a transition to possibly help them get stronger.
I wish the best for Kathleen, and strength for you.
I am an only child of both my parents and I only wanted the best for my father, always.
Please, tell Kathleen, we are thinking of her and you at this time.

(The Cook Family)After 5 1/2 years, my sweet Kathleen has finally exhausted her options for fighting this cancer. She will now go on hospice care and even though we knew it was coming, it is hard to believe. Thank goodness for the caring souls of hospice who make this a much more comforting process than I would have thought possible.
I had a bad feeling when I heard the sad news about Caroline Stouffer and I guess it goes to show that things can change in a hurry. On the other hand, we do feel very grateful for the incredible success Kathleen has had up to this point.
This site is very valuable. I do follow many of your stories and try to add my two cents worth when I think it may help. I wish you all only the best.
