Lainy…..unfortunately CCA mimics that of others and given the rarity of occurrence, physicians may not suspect or are not aware of this cancer.
We are working on addressing this issue in various ways and will design a concrete plan by the beginning of next year.

Marion, you are so right. I remember like it was yesterday. Teddy had been itching for 2 weeks. Nothing helped and I told him to go to his GP on a Wed. for LABS. 2 days before we were leaving for Milwaukee. She called us Fri. nite at my sons to tell us not to worry but his Billie Rubin was over 5. A week later he had his aborted Whipple in Milwaukee. Communication was totally broken down and our site was not up yet. Thank goodness our Docs and Surgeon in Milwaukee were right on it. The problem I see here is that when people are first DX or have symptons they have not heard of CC. Why would they? Perhaps we need more education out there? Don’t know how, though.

Thanks, Gavin, We know that early detection is the key to this disease. GP’s are the first to take note of patient’s symptoms and that is where the breakdown occurs.
    Hugs,
    Marion
