Red Robin it was…..and we ended our meals with the “Tower of Donuts” that came with chocolate sauce, raspberry sauce (and I asked for whipped cream on the side) Our little grandson made everything perfect …..his eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when he saw the Tower of Donuts!!! Before we went to eat, my son and grandson brought over a bunch of lavendar daisies to commemorate the day. I had to tell my little 3 year old grandson that I had “happy tears”. (He looked a little worried.) Thank you for the good wishes, Now….on to the CT scan on Friday. Mayo…here we come.

Congrats on one year Julie. Red Robin, McDonald’s, or Denney’s…it’s all about celebrating with family. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a positive report on Friday.

Settle for nothing but the best, and give 110% in everything you do.
Life is a gift, appreciate all the rewards, jump on every opportunity.
And fight for what you believe. Hate nothing, Never forget where you
came from, and always remember where you are going.
Live Life to its fullest, have a reason for everything, even if it’s totally insane.

Feb 28, 2014, was a day I hate and love at the same time. It was that date that I walked into Methodist Hospital at Rochester, Mayo Clinic to have surgery to remove the ICC growing in the left lobe of my liver. At 1 p.m……I was rolled into surgery and 7 hours later, I was back in my room, apparently then cancer free.

So, today is the one year anniversary and I’m celebrating one year of being cancer free. It sort of feels like I’m jumping the gun a little, since it’s been 3 months since my last CT scan and I have one at Mayo in 7 days, but I’ve been told I should celebrate, so that is what I’m going to do. The kids will meet us for dinner tonight at Red Robin Restaurant (okay….the 3 year old grandson picked out the dining location) to mark the day.

I’ll post again on Friday after I get the results of my CT scan at Mayo. But, for now……it’s one year and I”m grateful. Thank you to everyone here for helping me get through this year. I love you all.

    Julie T.
