Thank you all for the good wishes. I do have Biotene as well as an Orajel rinse which also seemed to help…Need to stick with rinsing with salt water too. If this is the worst thing for me…I’ll deal with it, hoping my energy and good health doesn’t change.
Wishing everyone on here good luck with their treatment .

rarebreed…..fantastic results with minimal side effects, congratulations on all fronts. As mentioned by Lainy and Julie, Biotene products are used to combat many of the oral problems caused by cancer treatment. It does not require a prescription and can be purchased in a drugstore.
I agree with you, staying active (not always easy to do) is a major key in combating fatigue, you are a good proof for that.

I wonder whether you would be so kind and repeat your current update on the highlighted link we have created for you?

The purpose for highlighting clinical trial participation is to:
allow other other research study participants to communicate with you, learn from your experience and perhaps share additional information with you and the rest of us.
Entering a clinical research study can be a lonely experience due to the fact that study coordinators cannot reveal the names of other participants however; we are able to bypass this ruling by providing an open platform for all that care to participate.

Again, fantastic news, you are doing great and tons of good wishes are heading your way.
    Hugs,
    Marion

Rarebreed…..Fantastic news. Thanks for sharing your success. We love to hear shrinkage….and I’m hoping that continues for you and the trial along with Gem/Cis is successful for you as well as others trying it. We love hearing news like this.

Biotene is good stuff. I used it for other mouth problems in the past…recommended to me by my dentist…and by concology nurse. It also helps with dry mouth too.

Dear Rarebreed15, YES you are a rare breed with 20% shrinkage, one of our favorite words. YIPPEE! There is a mouthwash you might find helpful called Biotene. If you click on our Search engine at the top and type in Biotene you should get posts popping up on the subject. Much continued success to you!!!

I had my 1st CT this past Wed since I started on GEM/CIS and the clinical trial of MEK 162 at MSK in NYC. The Dr was happy to report that the scan showed a 20% shrinkage. Excellent news!!!
The only side effects I’ve been having are a bit of swollen ankles and some canker sores in my mouth.
I’ve been keeping active which I believe keeps me from being tired :)
