Yes Jack, just take one day at a time and make the most of each and every one. I also am hoping that the good days will out weigh the bad. Ultimately Diane’s comfort is of the utmost importance at this time. Know that we are all right there with you to help and support you all in any way that we can.

    Love & Hugs,
    Darla

Jack, I am right along side of you both during this journey. Home Hospice is great and it sounds like Diane is starting it just like my Teddy did. The Oxygen is good in that it picks up the energy and also calms down the system so that the pain parts are relieved along with the meds. I had him in a hospital bed in the living room. It was bright and airy and great for visitors along with more room for the Nurses to work around him. Most important the BIG TV was in there! Eventually I also ordered a walker. When a new Nurse would visit Teddy would tell her we were on our Honeymoon. Make the most of this time together and please know that if you care to write to me personally I would be glad to help where I can. Wishing for the very best and comfort for Diane.

    Hello Everyone,

Its been a while and a lot has happened. Diane did do 3 weeks of chemo and she then had some major pain in her stomach . Trip to er and a scan showed the cancer was back in her liver where in was taken out by surgery and more lymth node involvement and the original nodes showed they are growing.

So of course her Doc. wanted to stop the chemo and so did she. She is now on hospice care, they are coming out 2 times a week and she is using oxygen when she needs it. The nurses are keeping her pain under controll pretty good. When she has a good day she goes hundred miles an hour! And when its a bad day or night she slows down.

This cancer is so nasty … Diane is just an amazing person to have such a calm/ peaceful atttude. We have a 18 month old grandson Luke (he is are only one) This breaks her heart knowing she wont be around for him. We both have god in our hearts and we know we will see each other again in Heaven.

We have a wonderful family and two great kids . I want to thank everyone her, ive read a lot that you have all written. and its helped me alot.
My advise is take one day at a time and have as much fun as possible and the key is to except god as your savior!

    Thank You!

Dear Jack, many thanks for clarifying about the ONCs. Very good hospitals where they came from and having trust and faith in who you are using is half the battle. Sending best wishes and a ton of good luck on the Chemo regime. And as always please keep us updated when you can!

    Hi Everyone,
We saw doc Tuesday and he could see she was hurting. He went over the CT scan and stated new lymth node behind stomach and the one in front of stomach about the same.

He thinks its the right time to try Chemo again, ( last time she got a severe infection ) Its been about 3 months of her feeling great. So she will start this coming Monday.

I mentioned maybe seeing another doc, My niece is a cancer nurse at Duke Hospital. She has been following every step of the way including asking her docs what they think and they have agreed with everything thats been done. Her surgeon came from Cleveland Clinic and she also checked out her Oncloigist. We just love him. Very concerned speaks on our level and is very good. I wanted to explain this little bit because I see/understand you guys recommend another opinion.

I really appreciate all of you and your support.

Jack……you may want to discuss molecular testing of the retrieved tissue. (I hope some is stored.)

Agree with Lainy Jack about the second or even a third opinion if you both want that. It can’t do any harm I would argue. Please let us know how everything goes with this.

    My best to you both,

    Gavin

Yes, Jack, YES, YES! We are heavy believers in 2nd and 3rd even 4th opinions. I can’t tell you the number of members who did just that as different Doctors see things well, differently. You could get the ball rolling now as it may take some time. It will stop you from ever looking back and thinking I could have, would have should have. BYW, you have an excellent place right in Ohio….the Cleveland Clinic!
