    Victor,

I am so sorry to hear this latest news. I am perplexed about how the cancer in the pancreas could have been missed! I’m not so familiar with pancreatic cancer, but I would think it would show up in scans and blood work. In any event, the tumors in the liver have been removed, so that’s good. I am hoping the cancer in the pancreas was missed because the tumor is small. Also hoping that surgery is possible for you to remove it.

Marion raised some good points – this disease is much better funded and understood. I’m assuming there are more and better treatment options. I can’t imagine how hard this is on you and your family. Hang in there and take it step by step, you will get through this (second act”). My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Victor….do not dismay….this is not bad news. Although; pancreatic cancer is not much different than that of cholangiocarcinoma, it is however not a rare cancer, is widely researched, monetarily extremely well funded, and has a much larger patient group. Please try to reach out to PanCAn:

Stay strong….we are behind you, all the way.
    Hugs,
    Marion

Dear Victor, I am so sorry to read about this! I am at a loss for words. Has the ONC discussed treatment options? I do wish the best for you and including you in my Prayers. If you can, please stay in touch with us and let us know how you are doing. You never know how strong you are until “strong” is the only choice you have!

Keep up the good work and think about some hugs, thinking only, as I don’t want to hurt your tummy! YIPPEE!

Thanks Deb. Hoping pathology results come back negative.

Marion, I used the pillow trick on my walk earlier and it helped a lot! Thank you!

Victor, Thanks for letting us know how you are doing. Sounds like all went well. Now the healing begins. Take it slow & easy. The worst is over. And yes, take Marions advice on the pillow when coughing.

    Gentle Hugs,
    Darla

Yeah, Victor. you did it. So thrilled to hear. Hang in there —each day is better than the last. You underwent a huge surgery and the healing must begin. Release date does not seem out of the norm.
Remember to hold pillow (gently) against abdomen while coughing up phlegm.

    Hugs
    Marion

Quick update. Surgery went well. Dr said they got it all out. Waiting for pathology. In a good amount of pain still. Tried clear liquids today but it hurt immediately. Discharge date pushed back till 1/21.

Thank you all for the well wishes.

Victor, on the off-shoot chance you will see this before surgery tomorrow……you have my best wishes going forward. You’ll recover from the surgery before you know it and please post again when you are up to it. We love hearing.
