Paul,
Welcome to our group. I’m glad to hear you are getting the second opinion. Although I would like to see less people affected, it is still rare enough that most hospitals are not familiar with it.
Best wishes to you and your wife.

Welcome to the discussion board. Sorry to hear about your wife’s diagnosis. What has she had for treatment? Any chance she has had genetic testing done on any biopsy samples? Please know we are all here to support in anyway we can. Take care!
MelindaMarch 20, 2016 at 10:16 pm #91935debnorcalModeratorPaul, welcome to our discussion board. I am sorry your wife has been diagnosed with CC, but you have come to the right place for information and support. I am glad you are getting a second opinion from Duke, as it is so important to be seen by a major medical center with expertise in CC. Please keep us posted on the second opinion and please ask as many questions as you want on this board- we have many caring, knowledgeable members that want to make your journey easier.

He was very strong minded and I didn’t want to bring that down one iota. I am glad you had a second opinion as that is extremely important. And like you said, life is for the living! I wanted to give you the site below as it maybe of help to you. And please keep us updated on your wife. BTW weekends are kind of slow on here as I know you will be getting more responses!

My wifes CC started in the bile duct, with some spots in the liver as well, St IV. Since then with recent scans they have noticed some spots on the spleen but nothing conclusive as yet, hoping it stays that way.
She is currently being treated in EC, NC and we have had a second opinion from Duke.
We will Get Busy Living.
March 19, 2016 at 7:40 pm #91938lainySpectatorHello Paul and welcome to our remarkable family and the best place to be for CC support. I do believe this is the first time I have heard of CC appearing in the spleen. Where is the origin of the CC and what kind of treatments has your wife had. Also where is she being treated. We are BIG believers in 2nd and 3rd opinions and making sure that CC’ers are treated at a hospital and by an ONC with lots of experience as it is still rare and some places have not even heard of it yet. But we are getting there, it’s just around the corner. Below is a site you may find helpful and please keep us updated as we truly care. Hang in and hang on and I know you will feel more secure having found our site.
March 19, 2016 at 6:00 pm #12290pcabMemberGreetings all, my wife 56 was diagnosed with CC, 1 Jul 15. Since then scans have shown minimal shrinkage and 3 new spots on her spleen. She has good days and bad but we strive to keep moving forward by saying “Get Busy Living”.
It is good to have a space to ask those questions that I am afraid to ask the or see if someone else has gone through the same experiences.
Take care all until next time.
