Last July 2015 my fiance was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma our world has been turned upside down. He is 54 years old and has the disease over 40% of his liver with some around the lymphnodes by the liver. We are going to U Of M in Ann Arbor Michigan. It is the one place where I found that the Dr’s currently treat people with this cancer. He underwent 6 months of chemo cist/gem as I have read on this site it seems to be protocol. After six months he was ready for a break so we had 8 weeks off and had to go to another CT scan all scans have been the same no change in the tumor whatsoever. Which is not what we want but we are dealing. Let me mention he also had stents but externally in his liver so he has two tubes hanging out the side of him to take care of the jaundice he had which was pretty severe. We went to the dr yesterday for another ct scan no change in the tumor! So another 8 weeks off. He did mention directive therapy which we are considering so he doesn’t have to go through chemo at this time. Anyone have any experience with directive therapy? What is working for people I know everyone is different but I am here to tell you all I may not be the one with cancer but I WILL NOT GIVE UP on this cancer for him and our family
