Glad to be of help Ben. Take a look at the nutrition board as well for posts on ginger as I think there are some there from memory. And please let us know as well how this goes for your mum.

    Best wishes,

    Gavin

    Hi Ben,

Sorry to hear this news about your mum and the nausea, not so good. I found a few sites that hopefully will be of use to you on this issue. Plus we have the nutrition board here on the site that should be of help as well. Here are the links –

    http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/cancers-in-general/treatment/cancer-drugs/side-effects/sickness-and-cancer-drugs

    http://www.macmillan.org.uk/information-and-support/coping/side-effects-and-symptoms/eating-problems/feeling-sick.html

    http://chemocare.com/chemotherapy/side-effects/nausea-vomiting-chemotherapy.aspx

    https://www.ucsfhealth.org/education/diet_for_cancer_treatment_side_effects/

The top 2 links are from the UK and contain loads of great info from highly respetced organisations here in the UK Ben. Hope some of that is of help and please let us know how things go for your mum.

    My best to you both,

    Gavin

Have you tried natural remedies? If she can tolerate the taste, try chewing fresh ginger after a meal, swallow juice, then spit out ginger. If not, try ginger tea. How about fresh peppermint tea to soothe the stomach? Inhale essential oils, such as peppermint oil or lavender.

My wife was diagnosed 11-2015. She has undergone chemo, chemo and radiation and started on Keytruda august 2016. Her CA-19 marker went from 500 to 6300 while on it. Stopped Keytruda two months ago since it apparently was not effective for her. No treatment since then.

Her biggest issue now is persistent nausea despite anti nausea meds. The nausea breaks thru even on full doses of two different meds. She is also having some severe abdominal pains.

It seems like recently things have changed. However, we are grateful for her decent quality of life for most of the time since diagnosis.

Has anyone figured out the best foods to eat to avoid nausea?

    Ben
