Karen, thanks for your good news and I hope the follow on treatments are as successful. MD Anderson has no “cyberknife” they do have “Proton Therapy” Any one have experience with this?
e don,
My husband has been treated with Cyberknife. To us it was the only treatment available…we could not find a doctor willing to do a liver resection and my husband was greatly opposed to chemo as pallitive treatment. The tumors that were treated in January are essentially “dead”. Unfortunately a new small tumor has appeared in the liver and there is also mets to his spine. Both these areas will be Cyberknifed next week and we are praying for the best.

Don,
so happy for you having found us although, so sorry to hear about your Dad. Several CC patients have been treated with Cyberknife and you can read up on some of the discussions by entering “Cyberknife” under Search although, I suspect of other members wanting to answer you, personally.
In fact, you will be pleasantly surprised by the outpouring of help coming your way.
Wishing for the absolute best,
Marions
We are awaiting PET Scan results which we may have tomorrow. My husband’s cancer returned where his duodenum used to be and he is a good candidate for the surgery. The reason for the PET Scan is that the Oncologist will only do it if there are no other “hot” spots. Teddy had a Whipple almost 3 years ago and the CC has just returned. We are in Phoenix and from what we have been told it is the absolute best way to go and of course it is non invasive. Saw a video on it in the doctors office…absolutely amazing!
Howdy, my father is starting gemzar/ciplatin this week at MD Anderson for inoperable intrahepatic CC. Long term sucess seems poor. Has anyone tried the cyberknife radiosurgery?
