    positvity…..this type of testing requires tissue retrieval via a biopsy.

    Liquid (blood) analyses is available. I have learned that it can be quite accurate with stage III and IV as at this point plenty of cancerous cells circulate throughout the blood.

    Everyone should suggest to their oncologist to get genetic testing. I asked one and it was declined since we didn’t get the standard treatment, but it should be offered regardless. I requested it again anyway, so we will get it done.

    This allows for mutations such as:
    FGFR gene fusions
    IDH mutations
    rDNA mismatch repair defects

    This opens the pathway to treatment options and targeted therapy which is more hopeful .
    I am sure these mutations have been mentioned several times on our forum. This was information a doctor shared.
