    Walk,

    I have to agree. I would seek out more opnions, talk it over and then ultimately the decision will be your Dad’s to make. He is the only one who can decide what is right for him. Your Dad is lucky to have you there to help & support him.

    Walk….I would gather the opinion from one or possible two other radiologists. Ultimately though, it would be important to ask your Dad to make the decision about his future treatments. I have learned that in many instances those afflicted with the disease in order not to hurt the one’s the love will try to please those around them by doing what they think is expected of them. I think that once you have a few more opinions to work with, the answer will be much easier. You are such a wonderful advocate for your Dad by continuously looking for answers in order to find the best of all ways to deal with this disease.

    Strictly my own opinion, because Teddy and I have discussed how much does one take. I don’t remember your dad’s age. If and when we reach that point, at 76, Teddy opts for quality of life. I feel anyone over 80 or so should not be made to suffer when we know what is around the corner with this monster. Again, my personal opinion. I would seek, however, one more opinion perhaps of a radiologist. Go with your gut feeling and it will be the right one.

    My dad has been told by his interventional radiologist that he is too old for the toxicity of a chemo cocktail injection into his liver and that it could be fatal for him. His oncologist said to do it. He said it is the only treatment left because systemic (IV) chemo does no good. There has been no mention of any oral therapies or anything else. Reading the posts on here, it seems others have oncologists who are more willing to try things. Additionally, I have to do all the follow up and seldom get a call back without 2-3 messages.

    Would you take the cocktail, go home to die, get a new oncologist?
