Off chemo for a bit

Hi Ron – when I was going through chemo my red blood cells got low so I was given an injection of Procrit (Epoetin Alfa). The Procrit boosted me up enough so that I could continue with chemo, no delays. Don’t know if Procrit is in Scotland but maybe there is an equivalent injection you could get. Definitely worth asking your doc about.

Hi Kris, I feel bad that you were not able to do your chemo yet…I suppose it is better to be safe and not make things worse. However do tell that liver of yours to ‘snap out of it’ because you are ready to kick butt! I am keeping you and your naughty little liver in my prayers! hugs across the world! deb I wish I could do more.
Ron, it is one of the liver function values. My liver has never functioned well since the surgery. It is always acting up so I try not to worry too much about the possibility that the cancer has affected my liver function, as it is just a normal occurance since surgery.

Hi Kris, and sorry to hear about the delay. When you talk to the liver today you can threaten it with some onions! Hope you get much better news very soon.

After only one week on Xeloda, I have been taken off due to high liver values again. We will try again in 2 weeks. I am on steroids and milk thistle only. You can get chemo with a value of 3.0 and mine is 4.3…which isnt too bad since before chemo my value jumped to 6.3 for a bit.
I am disappointed and will definately have a firm talk with my liver today and tell it to behave.
