    Thanks for all the great replys.

    Dads CT came back and they see nothing. They did say his lymph nodes looked a little swollen but werent concerned because of the countless reasons that could happen. They are sending him for a PET scan and more blood work Friday. So we still know nothing.

    Hi Kay and Happy 4th to you! Sounds like your dad is actually doing quite well.
    The only thing we know for sure about CC is that we barely know nothing. All cases are so different and everyone responds differently. I agree that your doctor sounds like he right on top of things. All we can do is keep a watchful eye. Enjoy this time that he is doing so well. Please keep us posted.

    Hi Kay

    As per Internet searches and my docotrs advices me CA 19-9 test never come eaxctly and very help full some time for a infection the level can be increase you can search it in internet and you can find lot of things about CA 19-9.
    But here is good news you dad has passed 2 years.

    Hi Kay, Wonderful news about your Dad & an upcoming 2 yr. anniversary of being cancer free! Great to hear!

    Someone was just talking about this same thing yeserday on another thread. Per our experience, my Dad’s oncologist told him that the three primary diagnostic tools that he looked at to monitor the status of the cc included the bili levels, tumor size and the CA-19 marker. There are so many unknowns with this cancer! I’d say continue to keep a close eye and make sure the docs. stay on it.

    Hi Kay,
    My husband has had the same thing happen. He has been cancer “free” for 2 1/2 years after being diagnosed three years ago. His marker has risen the past six months but they feel it has to do with his radiation stricture causing blockage and inflammation from procedures he has had done. He had four tissue biopsies from the area of the original klatskin tumor done in Feb and they came back negative. Just another puzzling aspect of this cancer!! It scares the heck out of you though, but I’m glad to see your Dad’s Drs. are very proactive and keep close tabs on him. My husband’s are the same!! Best wishes, Mary

    Hi all,

    Happy early 4th of July.

    Quick question. Dad has been doing well. Will be 2years of cancer free in October. He is heavily monitored every 3 months. Just had a MRI & Chest xray at the end of March. He had his blood taken last week and his CA-19 was up to 354 from his normal 80 range. Dr. has ordered another Ct & Chest scan. I remember once before like the 3 months after his surgery bouncing up to 500 and then going back to normal. Doctors/Oncologist didnt know why but everything was fine. Could this be another tumor??? Or is the cancer back??? I am trying to prepare myself for anything. I would love some insight.
