Has anyone been diagnosed with cancer of the ampulla vater?

Has anyone on the board been diagnosed with cancer of the ampulla vater? Please give me feedback on your experiences. An oncologist recently told me that this type of cancer was somewhat easier to treat, even though the recurrance rate is high. My sister is currently going to have the whipple surgery this month and I would like to get any information from members on the board. It has been caught in the early stages and that is about all I know. Thanks, heather
