I am still in the process of finding this out. There is a chance for Patty to attend this conference on our behalf. One of the presenters (Dr. Melanie Thomas) is very much connected with the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. Again, CC lectures are not uncommen during medical conferences but this one is open to interested physicians and patients and caregivers alike.

My bestfriend did her oncology training in Chicago. She is now in Seattle, but I wonder if she can organise a spy (um, I mean notetaker) for us.

Do we know if they are going to publish anything from the conference?

I wish they had one of these conferences in the UK! Especially one focused on CC like this one. Like you Marion, I also hope it continues on a much larger scale, much larger!!

Kristin…..Major medical conferences such as ASCO, ASTRO, GI ASCO and others generally include Cholangiocarcioma research and treatment symposiums. However, this particular conference focuses in it’s entirity on CC and it includes patients and caregivers. This I have not seen before. I am wishing for it to continue on a much larger scale yet.
    Best,

Wow, this is GREAT! Is this the first time anyone has had a whole conference just about us?

I really hope the exchange of information will help doctors keep up to date with the latest.

If you are able to attend please, let us know. We will then forward to you some brochures and wristbands to hand out. You might also want to inform your treating physician.
