MargaretFebruary 2, 2010 at 12:43 am #33328startreknewfMemberDear Kristi, I am so sorry for your terrible loss. My thoughts are with you. I lost my husband Mike in 2001 with this terrible disease. He was diagnosed in March and died in June, aged 57. I will never forget the feeling of complete hopelessness . Right from the outset we were told it was inoperable by the specialists at Nottingham and Derby and he was unable to come home from hospital because of the jaundice, confusion and stent problems. Birmingham Liver unit tried to operate without success. He never got as far as chemo which the doctors felt was not really an option. After numerous bouts of septicaemia Derby transferred him to a hospice .He died four days later. I am still traumatised by the speed of his loss -this is such a wicked disease. My heart goes out to all the people whose lives have been torn apart by CC. I hope and pray that someone, somewhere can find a cure.

I so feel your pain! How are you doing? I lost my younger sister 3 years ago, this December 12th. Time does help, I can at least talk about her now without the uncontrollable sobbing. Although, there still isn’t a day that goes by that I do not think about her and miss her terribly. I absolutely hate this disease!
You are in my thoughts during this very difficult time!

This is such sad news, I am so sorry she is gone. Anyone who has lost a loved one to this disease knows exactly what you are going through, I am quite sure that right now you are still just trying to figure out what happened and how did it happen so fast, this disease is so swift and ruthless and makes you feel the most utter helplessness. The grief section on the board is quite active, we are here for you.

SarahNovember 29, 2009 at 2:40 pm #33319roma35MemberKristi, my heat just sunk. I am so deeply sorry for your news. Your sister was too young to leave this earth and her children and you are too young to lose your sister. Although it may give you little comfort now, the fact that she didnt suffer long with this horrid disease is a blessing. I am heading into church shortly and I will say a special prayer for you sister and your family.
Peace be with you
BarbaraNovember 29, 2009 at 11:57 am #33318darlaSpectatorDear Kristi,
I am so sorry you lost her so quickly. You have my deepest sympathy and understanding. Things happened in a similar way for my husband. Things just are never what they seem with this awful type of cancer. Some do much better than expected and others are lost so quickly. It seems like we didn’t even have a chance to understand and accept what was happening and they were gone. She was too young and had so much to live for with her three wonderful children. Try to take some comfort in the fact that atleast she is no longer suffering or in pain. She is in a better place and will always be with all of you in your heart and memories. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and the rest of the family.
Love & Hugs,
