Yes. People with cancer or a history of cancer should receive the H1N1 flu shot, not the nasal spray vaccine. The seasonal flu vaccine is not expected to protect against 2009 H1N1 flu. People who live with or care for cancer patients and survivors also should be vaccinated against 2009 H1N1 flu.CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends that certain groups receive the 2009 H1N1 flu vaccine as soon as possible.
