Gavin – my curtains are very thin & whilst I hate blocking the light out, I really don’t want to be woken by it tooooo early. I’ve started wearing the “travel” eye-mask people use to sleep on aeroplanes & they do the trick!! ;) Hope they help you sleep a bit longer. x

    Marion,

We just had the longest day of the year here yesterday, our summer solstice. And up here at this point in the summer, we can still have light up to around 10 at night easy, enough to even play golf, but not very well if your eyesight is not great! The darkness can start to wear off just after 3ish and this is very annoying for trying to sleep! It’s not broad daylight at that time, but it’s not long from then until it is! I’m about 60 miles north of Edinburgh on the east coast, and by our standards, it was sweltering today, 25c!!

    Kris,

Sounds like you are indeed the “expert”in your house!! It took my years to figure out how to set up anti virus stuff, firewalls etc!

Keep going Lainy, you’ll get there!!!

    Best wishes,

    Gavin

    Lainy,

Are you new to Windows 7? It is just different enough that you may want to watch the tutorials available online. I moved to Windows 7 in December and found these videos to be very helpful. Here is a link to a page with multiple short videos.

Huff, Huff, Puff, Puff…I am getting there. Having a problem with my work stuff but other things are coming around…beside getting used to this Windows 7. UGH I have worked on a computer for 30 years but I am computer challenged.

I am the worst computer fixer…except for Hans that is. It is the biggest joke among our friends and family that I am the computer “expert” in our house. I still dont know how to take off the password thingy when I start my computer or how to adjust settings. For me, the computer is a glorified typewriter connected to the internet. I can type and point and click and I am still the “expert” in our house.

    Hi Lainy,

Good luck with that!!!! I hate it when things go wrong with my pc as I am not good at fixing them at all!

And it is hot here today! Although it starting to get daylight at just after 3 in the morning is getting annoying!

My best to you and Teddy,

    Gavin

I hate it when that happens. How frustrating! Good luck learning those new tricks.

Just wanted to tell you my computer crashed Friday night. I am in the middle of installing programs on my new set, nothing but problems with Windows 7. Sometimes it’s just hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Gotcha, Marion, thanks. Hope this finds everyone enjoying the first day of summer. I hope to be up and running soon.
