This today from the Singapore Straits Times seems to be a follow up piece here about this development –

    http://meltwaternews.com/prerobot/sph.asp?pub=ST&sphurl=www.straitstimes.com//Singapore/Story/STIStory_543329.html

“It was also found that MAPK13 plays a role in allowing the tumour cells to move and invade normal organ tissues.

The discovery means the enzyme could complement the current biomarkers used to diagnose bile duct cancer.

‘This is significant as it is now possible to deactivate the gene through treatment to slow down the cancerous growth,’ Prof Teh, who is also the director of the NCCS-Vari team, told The Straits Times.”

    Hi Kris,

Yep the title went a bit over my head as well! And as you say, it is great that these collaborations are happening, the more the better! Hopefully some good will come of this, well a lot of good hopefully!

    Best wishes,

    Gavin

Just the title sounds over my head but I am going to give it a try! :)

    Thanks Gavin.

Ok, NOT over my head. Basically it said that they found a protein that could help detect the cc earlier and may help with treatments. It looks like it was a joint project between researchers in Singapore and the US. Great news that people are doing such collaborations.
