Mom’s oncologist gave her the OK on Tuesday to take the cruise with the family! Now that the chemo is pretty much out of her system, her liver function numbers are back down almost to normal. Her tumor marker has gone up again a little, but not as huge of a jump as last time. My sister and I were both pleasantly surprised at all the numbers.
He said Mom should stay away from the tequila shots, but a champagne toast was acceptable. The only other restriction is raw seafood, which she hates, so no worries there.
So the 12 of us (7 adults and the 5 grandkids ages 4-11) are heading out this morning on Enchantment of the Seas for 9 days with stops in Maine, Canada, and Boston.
Here’s to lots of memories with my Mom!
