Lainy,
I have not been out here looking at any posts other than “good news” for awhile. I just couldn’t face anything else and wanted to just here good things for a bit. I just started looking over posts and saw that you lost your wonderful Teddy. I am so so sorry. You both have been a source of inspiration for me over this past year. My thoughts are with you and your family and friends.

The arrangements that you and Robin have made sound lovely and I am sure that Teddy would approve. As Darla said, it will be a wonderful tribute to such a great man.
Thinking of you and Robin right now.
Big hugs to you both,
Gavin

Everything you have planned sounds lovely. It will be a wonderful tribute to a great man. As for your feelings about hospice, yes, a complaint is in order, but for your own peace of mind, know that you did everything right and try to replace those thoughts with all of the wonderful memories and the love that you shared. Teddy is at peace and will live on forever in your heart and all those memories. I am glad you have Robin with you to support you and that your loving family will surround you along with all of us here to give you strength and support to help you get by.
As always, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

DarlaDecember 8, 2010 at 1:43 pm #45249pamSpectatorWe sure do appreciate your updates. I love your post. I am so amazed about the arrangements you’ve made. The church services sound so beautiful. I feel like you took us there and then on down to Taco Bell. I am so glad you have Robin’s support and she has yours. I hope you get some rest in the upcoming days. Just remember Teddy is at peace. Close your eyes and let that wash over you!

This is the part when you live by the 5 minute rule. You do 5 minutes worth and then move to the next 5 minutes.
Try and get as much rest as possible and try to remember to eat! Everything will fall into place and Teddy’s funeral will be a wonderful tribute to a life well lived!
You and Robin are in my prayers and thoughts.
hugs,

You did the very best you could do for him and that is what counts. I would certainly file a complaint with the hospice facility though since what happened is unacceptable!
T is at peace now, smiling down at you.
Soon you will be back on this forum, shining bright as ever! Take all the time you need dear, for yourself!!!!!
Love and Hugs,
Margaret

You who have been our shining light, whose posts have guided us–so full of empathy, so lovely, filled with such kindness should never have had to witness, experience what you did.
I am speaking from experience when I advise that you must let go of the memory of it and turn away from it and focus upon remembering the loveliness of your relationship with the marvelous Teddy.
You have the support of all these people who care for you so greatly —please lean onus and we will hold you up help you to remember only the marvelous times with Teddy.
December 8, 2010 at 5:12 am #4437lainySpectatorI think Robin and I must have shed 2 pounds each in our tears today getting everything set up for the Service December 17th.
First we went to the Funeral Home to make arrangements and as I walked in my knees went weak knowing Teddy was there. But we got through it and then I felt better. On to the Taco Bell drive through before our stop at St. Stevens.
We had the cutest little lady help us with the arrangements as Teddy wanted a full Mass. She would sing the songs to us and explain the Psalms and I don’t know what hit Robin there but she couldn’t stop crying. We took turns today. It will be a lovely service with both our choirs, mine and the Church. What ever we asked for Father Pierre OK’d. First time ever this Catholic Church is allowing a Rabbi to co officiate! I am so pleased with it all and I am sure Teddy is also.
We are still a little raw with emotions about the way Hospice did not do what was promised. Turns out our rabbi knows the President of hospice, Susan Levin who was married to Barry Goldwater. He is going to send a complaint to her as he saw first hand how T was being treated. I still feel bad because if I had taken him to a hospital he would have been sedated like he should have been. I am having a hard time getting over what I witnessed. Only word I can come up with is Barbaric! I have to get over this.
Family will start arriving on the 15th for a long weekend. The church lady wanted me to describe T and I said the most important thing was this man NEVER judged anyone and he always had good things to say. He was a Man’s man and a ladies gentleman!
Hope you are all doing good and forgive me if I am on kind of sporadically right now. -
