Susan….Is this the bile duct cancer walk organized by the very same organization putting on the event Barb and I had attended? If not please, let me know. I won’t be able to be there however, I would like for someone to distribute some brochures and display a Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation banner. If Joyce is organizing this event then I will get in touch with her also.
Best wishes,
MarionApril 29, 2011 at 6:45 am #49901marionsModeratorDear Barb…..Sure wish that we had more time to talk…..but, please take care of yourself. The survivor story can wait.
I will be mailing you a letter real soon.
Hugs and best wishes,
MarionApril 29, 2011 at 5:51 am #49900barbSpectatorhi marion, and a very belated thank you for being at the walk. hi to lainy too.
it was pure joy to meet you marion. what a beautiful place to have that event take place. booth (my husband) and i loved being there and meeting others who are joined together in fighting this wicked disease. everyone that we talked to was warm and caring. a very special time for us.
on the way home we visited with one of my brothers who was vacationing in montecito with his wife and his mother-in-law. his father-in-law passed away in feb from pancreatic cancer.
marion, i hope to get my act together in a week or two and post my survivor story. we’ve been consumed by family problems since our return and i am in survival mode. however, i know how much i appreciated reading other long term survivor stories so i will deliver .
thank you again marion and to the board and other volunteers for all you do.
with love,
barb hlainy, i finally viewed your youtube posting… i am so sorry… hospice those people should not be working in those positions. as you know there are some good hospices and obviously that one is a farce. thank you for speaking up.
April 26, 2011 at 3:53 am #49899slittle1127MemberI am looking forward to posting the CC walk that my daughter’s employer is sponsoring in June. I will get the details to you. The more we can raise awareness, the better our chances for getting research, money, and a cure.
April 26, 2011 at 1:55 am #49898marionsModeratorYes, Lainy…I did read your posting and am thrilled for you to have reconnected with Bob and Donna. Bob had e-mailed me personally therefore, I had been aware of his recent circumstances. I believe for Bob to have been diagnosed with this disease more than 11 years ago….what a success story he is!
Hugs
MarionApril 25, 2011 at 10:20 pm #49897lainySpectatorMarion, how fantastic!!! Thanks for the Barbara report. I hope that means she is doing so much better. She had not posted in a great while and of course one assumes the worse, guess we shouldn’t do that! They are such lovely people, really enjoyed them. It sounds like it was a very successful event and you are so right about meeting up with people from the CC site. Don’t know if you saw but 32Coupe (Bob and Donna) came for a visit yesterday. It is a feeling beyond compare!
April 25, 2011 at 9:44 pm #5060marionsModeratorOn Saturday I met up with the folks at the annual Bile Duct Cancer Walk, in Mountain, View, California.
Danny Cmiel, then a 4th grader initiated the idea of a bile duct cancer walk for a school project. It has grown tremendously with upcoming consecutive walks in numerous US locations. Well done, Denny, you are an inspiration. Denny graciously allowed me to take his picture which I hope to be able to post. (Of course, I need Rick
