Greetings! My name is Patti, and I have been visiting this wonderful website since October of 2009, when my younger brother Bruce (age 54) was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma. My youngest brother, Brian, has been posting on this site since that time.
Bruce was originally given less than 6 months to live (although he didn’t tell us that – keeping that secret between himself and his wife.) Bruce’s cholangio was caught fairly early (due to his amazing general practitioner and friend), however there were 3 tumors in his liver with the largest being wrapped around his vena cava, making it inoperable.
It has been a long journey since then, and Bruce is still with us and doing fairly well, although there have been bumps in the road. He has started a fund to help further support research and improve outcomes from this horrible disease, and we have developed a website (http://www.brucehaney.org) to work towards that goal and to share our individual research.
