July 18, 2011 at 4:03 pm #50971pcl1029MemberHi,Mari,
sorry to hear your brother’s passing.
If you can, please e mail or just answer WEN888 for me.(her’s is a just few entry above this entry that I write to you) .She wants to know where your brother got help,(names of hospital and the doctors) in Phillipines. And what is your opinions about their care.(Is it up to standard, expensive and effective?).
Her dad has CC,so please give her some pointers and help her out;you know when you first hit with the news that someone had CC in the family you really like a ton of bricks hitting on your head and want any kind of help you can get;
I am in the States and I don’t know that much in that area.
So,if I may request you to see whether you can email Wen888 after you settling down from travelling .I will really appreciated. (I think she is also a Filipino too).
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for me. As you can see ,it works.
and please keep us informed and come back often,You can be one of us to help other people too. We all are volunteers ,caregivers like you to your brother and patients like me.

July 15, 2011 at 4:12 am #50968wen888SpectatorHi mares311, I am wendy and my dad was recently diagnosed with cc ..
PCL1029 recommended me to talk to you as you may have insights on what works and what kind of treatment and which places are known to have expertise on this area (in Philippines or somewhere in Asia like HK, SG, ?)….. my dad is based in philippines too…
If you dont mind, where did your brother have his treatment and what kind of treatment?
Thanks/WendyJune 29, 2011 at 9:38 pm #50967marionsModeratorMari….you will want to discuss with the treating physicians the possibility of an external or internal biliary drainage catheters.
All my best wishes,
MarionJune 29, 2011 at 4:00 am #50966mares0311Spectatoragain, when there is no possibility of using a stent to drain the bile, what other options does one have?

June 29, 2011 at 3:40 am #50965mares0311SpectatorHello,
I am back again writing to you in the hope of getting some advice.
I will be leaving for Asia, to spend time with my family, most especially with my brother.
He has been taking some diuretics to relieve him of some discomfort, and fluid in his legs and feet named Lasix and Aldactone. They worked well in the beginning, but have not been doing so recently. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you so much.

June 21, 2011 at 7:52 pm #50963pcl1029MemberHi,
Hilar cc is a subgroup of ductal cc under extra hepatic cc.
Did he has fluid in the abdomen instead of stomach?
Is he constipated?Did he pass gas? 5 liters of fluids from the stomach instead of abdomen? Did his doctor give him lasix and or Aldactone(diuretics)to relieve the swelling of the legs and abdomen ?
Again consult doctor first before making any change .
God blessJune 21, 2011 at 5:19 pm #50964mares0311SpectatorHello All,
I will be going home to Asia to visit my brother and family soon. Although his doctors have basically have said that not much can be done, my brother still remains hopeful with his faith much stronger. Has any one heard of instead of feeling bloated because of liquid in his stomach, its gas and discomfort? The last time, the doctors had drained out about 5 liters of fluid, but this time, there was none. Is there anything that can be done to alleviate this feeling?
My brother does not have ductal CC but the other one…hera? Can’t even remember the name…He is in stage 3b.
Also, my brothers legs and feet are swollen. He has difficulty walking because of this. Any suggestions?
Thank you all for your support and concern. My prayers and support are also with you.
Sincerely,
Mari
