But it seems that medicines of the family of alprazolam are not working at all. She had a hallucination of talking to my dad who passed away 12 years ago. She was very attached to him. She said “he is waiting for me”. It was devastating because I read that this might be a sign of death awareness which is common to a person few days before decesing.
Jose…there are ways to reduce anxiety with drugs. Please speak to your sister’s physician.

MarionThanks a lot for your advice. It’s true it’s weird swallowing solids but not liquids. It might be something related to her psychological wellbeing which is worsening more and more.
I have seen lots of people have problems with liquids, but they usually have some type of neurological defect. Some times liver patients can have this issue also. Talk to your dr, she may need thickened liquids or nectar consistency. You need to make sure she is not aspirating.

Sorry to hear this about your sister. I find it strange that she can swallow solids but not fluids. Thats not something that I have heard of before and I agree with Marion in contacting the doctor about this. Have you had a chance to contact them yet?

Jose…Only your doctor will know for sure. You should give him a call because; we have not heard of this on this site. I think that it is important to find out whether her swallowing reflexes are intact; whether she is too weak to swallow or whether it is a psychological happening.
I am hoping for others to come forward and share some of their thoughts with us also.
