Porter….Lisa is a fantastic resource; she has a ton of experience with this cancer and in additition to she is a wonderful person to reach out to.
I so much agree with her: flush, flush, flush the chemo out of your system.
    Please stay in touch.
    Hugs,
    Marion

    Porter,
I was really anxious prior to chemo so I took an Ativan before I left the house. My energy level was low the day of chemo and a day or two after. I found having a piece of hard candy in my mouth helped with nausea. Drink lots of water. If you want to talk please feel free to call me.

Thanks. I find much beauty and strength in this one room as we are all hooked up fighting for the same purpose. Irionically I was reading about ginger this morning. I might try that next time ;)

Porter…good luck. I would not expect anything out of the ordinary. Other patients will be there also – so you have company.

I used to make ginger tea and take it with me to chemo.
I did not have many side effects with gem/cis except it lowering my WBC and H/H.

    Take care

Hi Marion. Thanks. I’m nervous and on my way up now. I don’t have a port but the plan is to get one inserted soon I believe.

Porter….those with personal experience with administration of chemo most likely are best to answer your question, but I want to make sure to send tons of good wishes your way. I suppose you don’t have a port as of yet, but that may be something to consider.
    Hugs,
    Marion
