I went to meet my best friend from high school’s parents today. Her dad was an oncologist and my mom arranged for us to talk. When I made the comment about how my cc might have returned and that it was pretty predictable that it did, he was quick to disagree. He knows someone who was diagnosed in their mid to late fifties, got treatment, and is now 5 (almost 6) years past diagnosis with no reoccurance. We come from a small town so he has no other experiences to share, but that one.
I thought I would pass that along for others. I remember when I first had my resection and how everything I read was so depressing. I wish this little story will give us all hope-but especially the newbies who think there is no hope–that is just not true.
