Has anyone experienced blod cluts as a complication to CC?

I too have experienced clots, in fact I was just hospitalized in November for Pulmonary Emboli from a clot in my leg that was throwing clots to my lungs. I am on Coumadin for the foreseeable future and from what i understand this is quite common for this disease, lucky us
My wife Tammy has also had several blood clots due to her CC. They were in the area around the portal vein, and 2 other areas as well. This caused her a great deal of discomfort and helped the doctors diagnosis her CC. She has been on Fragmin every day since February 2007. Once they got the situation under control, (about 2 weeks), the pain has subsided. Her body created many hundreds of extra pathways for the blood to travel and this is causing additional difficulty to see the area around the portal vein and the actual area of the CC tumor. Just a few weeks ago she had to go for a special test (Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound), where they inject air bubbles into her veins so they stand out on an ultrasound.
I understand that this is quite common with CC as well.
My husband Tom has had a number of pulmonary embollisms, and thrombosis in the portal vein in the liver. He has also had an IVC placed ( good for leg clots) but since the clots are being thrown by the CC in the liver tumor, the filter does not help. We have had several emergency hospitalizations as the scans are pretty scary, but after consulting with a major hematology oncologist at Georgetown Hospital we were told that many CC patients get clots. They are not always discovered unless symptoms appear. My husband became breathless walking and rushed to the ER. He is on Lovanox ( 100mg) – two shots a day to keep more clots from forming, But the existing ones take a very long time to get absorbed, it has been 10months since the first one appeared, and it is still there and more…
Julie I don’t recall off the top of my head anyone with blood clotting in the brain, but there are a few members who have mentioned clotting to the legs and lungs. You might want to look under experiences or I think Family Blogs the Stoufer Family I think had some problems with clotting in the legs that she was able to manage with blood thinners. Sorry I couldn’t be of any further help. Blood thinning and clotting is common with this disease depending on the treatment and the individual as well.

Jeff G.My mother had deep vein trombosis and blod cluts in her brain that took her speach and paralyzed her left side. It was a major complication that interveined with all treatment possibilities. As I have not hear others telling of blod cluts I am interested to know if anyone else has this experience?
