    Good morning,

Mom’s scan showed tumor has not grown (4cm with necrosis from y90 in center) and no other areas of disease. We were thrilled with all stable. Ca-19 has gone from 47 to 49, but they said that increase is considered stable as well.

Unless she startes feeling symptoms, we were told to come back in 3 months for another scan. We are so happy to have a continued stretch of treatment-free time. When needed, will go back on gem/cis.

Catherine….fantastic news. From what we have learned, radiation continues to work for weeks, hence your Mom’s upcoming report may reveal increased atrophy. Things are looking really good and the timing is right – a trip is in order.

Dear Catherine, what a wonderful way to start my weekend with such fabulous news! YIPPEE! We do have a ton of hope here and Miracles too. Have a great vacation! Just one suggestion: You night ask your ONC for a contact where you will be on vacation, always be prepared! Have a great time!

Hello- Mom had SIRT 5 weeks ago. She has one inoperable tumor (5cm) that had already shrunk 20% from 3 cycles of gem/cis.

    Dr. M called
He said I had the best results they could hope for with this radiation treatment. He believes all areas were hit including right lobe blood supply. He doesn’t feel I need chemo embo at this time so he wants to wait for another scan in 2 months and evaluate then. He said to go and enjoy my trip . Liver is recouping from radiation. I should make appt. with Dr. H who will probably start chemo again and I can have embolization while on chemo if I need it. He also said a true picture of results is 3-6 months out from treatment. Significant portion of tumor is dead so this is great!

We are very happy! I’m assuming that it will be a different chemo than the gem/cis- hopefully one that is not quite as harsh.

    Catherine
