The 5th Annual Jacques Dupont Cholangiocarcinoma Memorial Benefit was an amazing success. Once again, the evening totally exceeded my expectations. The room was full of love, generosity, and support for The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in memory of my Jacques. There were 240 guests in attendance – another sold out event. We had so many generous donations, including over 160 Silent Auction items for attendees to bid on, 8 fabulous Live Auction items, a Gift Card Christmas Tree Raffle, great food, dancing, goody bags of full of chocolate, and a heartfelt speech, prepared and given by me. This year we had the services of both a professional photographer and a very experienced auctioneer for our Live Auction Many of the attendees complimented on how beautiful and elegant the venue was and how organized everything was. I am humbled and overwhelmed each year by the outpouring of generosity and support I receive. I always wonder how I can top it. This year my goal was $23,000 and we topped it. I am sure that this Annual Benefit will grow, as I have earned the respect and credibility of the businesses and people in my local area and now even in three surrounding states.
The total amount raised, including In Kind donations for services donated, was an incredible $28,246.37. It takes a lot of planning, many meetings and the dedication and commitment of my amazing committee, but it is all worth it, as we are raising much needed money for research and raising awareness. It truly was a wonderful event enjoyed by all who attended and, of course, I am already starting to plan for the 6th Annual Jacques Dupont Memorial Benefit. We already have the date, Friday, November 17, 2017 and the Venue, Entertainment, and Professional Photographer are already booked. Many businesses have already committed to donating again next.. As always, all proceeds will go to The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, as I totally believe that we are making a difference and I am committed to this cause and also to the foundation.
