    Christine……as you are witnessing experts disagree with their approaches. I would want to have an explanation as to why the physicians at MSKCC prefer their approach prior to surgery. I also would reach out to one additional surgeon from a large center having operated on a “large” volume of Cholangiocarcinoma patients.

    Christine, I answered your email.
    As to who is “right”, it’s more of who you feel more comfortable with. Who you think has your best interests at heart.
    I was not on this trial, although I have the pump. I wonder if I should check on this trial as a possibility IF the trial I’m on stops working.

    I just got back from MSKCC and they want me to use this pump as well. I couldn’t find many people on here posting about it.

    My doctor in Cincinnati doesn’t think the pump is necessary. He thinks I should just do IV chemo followed by surgery.

    Any thoughts on how to research who is right?

    Charlotte….others are undergoing or have undergone treatment with the Hepatic arterial infusion pump. I hope someone chimes in on this. The alternative is to use the “Search” engine, top, task bar by entering the keyword: “hepatic liver infusion pump” or “hepatic liver pump”

    You may also search for “Snowbird” who reported regularly on her husband’s experience with this pump.

    My husband gets treatment at the moment with the HAI-pump at MSKCC, also with these drugs:
    Floxuridine, Dexamethasone, and Gemcitabine. But not after surgery, the tumors are still in his liver and lungs.
