    Dear Marion and Lainy,

Thanks so much for your feedback. It was not pancreatitis as the enzymes are normal. On top of what’s already going on, my husband had chill, fever, and vomiting this evening. So we rushed to the ER. His bilirubin and alkaline phosphates increased, and it looks like he has cholangitis. He is now being admitted to the hospital and on iv antibiotics. Poor guy…he has gone though so much for the past several months. PLEASE no more!

Dear Lee. it does not take much for stents to act up, IF that is what is causing hubby’s discomfort. They can be placed a tad off or have moved BUT I WOULD definitely tell the ONC. Also if they get clogged all of his symptoms could occur as well. If they are plastic, which my husband had, they need to be changed usually every 6 weeks to 2 -3 months or they can cause infections. Please let the ONC know what is happening. Best wishes.

lihuixy….so sorry to hear of your husband’s continued problems. Have you contacted the gastroenterologist? Also, has pancreatitis been ruled out? I hope for others to chime in and share their thoughts with us as well. Lihuixy, don’t give up. You are entitled an explanation.
    Hugs,
    Marion

If you have read my previous posts, my husband had 2 stents placed about a months ago (April 10). His bilirubin and liver enzymes are trending down (except for alkaline phosphatase). He has been, however, experiencing lots of abdominal discomfort (e.g. bloating, pain and back pain) that has prevented him from sleeping at night. He also did not have much appetite. We have talked to our onc and also tried several medications (e.g. nexium, gasX, etc.) in addition to pain meds, but none of these seemed helping relive his discomfort. He is very frustrated…I am wondering if anyone has similar experience after stent placement. Thanks!

    Lee
