Hello gettingby and welcome to our board. Afinitor has not been mentioned on this site however, I am hoping for someone out there in cyber world to answer your questions.
Being that Afinitor is being used off-label for this cancer, the insurance company may balk at approving the use of this drug. Your physician may have to go to bat for you.

MarionHas anyone tried Afinitor? What effects or side effects are you getting? What has your health insurance had to say about it? My husband has gone through several chemo regimens (gemzar/xeloda/tarceva which worked well until the cancer found a way around it, oxalyplatin which worked until he became allergic to it). Afinitor seems to be next on the list.
