    Hi Lisa,

    I am so glad you’ve had a relatively smooth process with the Social Security — that can be such a nasty process to navigate.

    I am sure your feelings are so mixed about retiring — I think It’s great that you’ll be on-calling for a bit but takes the pressure off of you.

    I retired from work on Thursday, and on Saturday was approved for SSD. I was surprised that the disability came through so quickly. I didn’t even have an interview with a social worker.

    The SSD money comes through in October, but in the meanwhile I will be getting money from my disability insurance through my employer.

    Friday night my co-workers had a wonderful retirement party for me. I was really blessed to work with such wonderful people. It’s hard to leave. But in the meantime, I’m going to work once in a while there on an on-call, as-needed basis until my replacement gets up to speed.

    I’m surprised how smoothly everything has turned out. I thank God that He continues to surprise me with His provision. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
