Glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better today and I hope that the antibiotics do the job here.
Best wishes,

I bet the yellow is scary. I know how I feel when my bowel movements hit the light side…complete panic. I sometimes even make Hans look at them to decide if they classify as white.Hope the antibiotics do the trick. They are amazing usually. It is so encouraging how much better you feel after only one day on them.

April 28, 2010 at 9:29 pm #37604rick-kampMemberThank you all for your kind words and prayers. The Dr. on call agreed with me thinking that it is cholangitis. I started oral antibiotics early yesterday morning and I’m feeling slightly better now. My fever is down and the pain is better but I’m still a bit run down. That’s Cholangitis for you though.
My bilirubin was normal at the last check, but now I have that slight yellow tint in my eyes thanks to this episode. I’m not sure WHY cholangitis causes janundice but it does. Even in cases where there isn’t blockage (and I doubt that I have a blockage now). But – it is still concerning when you see that yellow. I haven’t seen that in about 8 months now!

April 28, 2010 at 5:09 pm #37603linda-zSpectatorOh Rick, I was so sorry for your recent pain (and I saw your exercising post first!).
I agree with others, and hope that you don’t jump to conclusions for the worst yet. It could be a number of things so hang in there and be positive.
I hope that by this time you are feeling much better and the Drs. had better news for you.
My thoughts are with you.

April 28, 2010 at 12:30 am #37602lisaSpectatorHi Rick
I’ve also had those symptoms, but got them cleared up with a couple of days in the hospital and stent replacement. Hang in there!April 27, 2010 at 8:16 pm #37601rayeMemberRick,
Hang in there. I had some pains that were similar along the way and they were minor infections from my stenting problems.
I, like Leo, also had kidney stones. What a nuisance those were.
April 27, 2010 at 8:09 pm #37600devoncatSpectatorRick,
Lets not put the cart before the horse! I had similar pain and fever and it was an infection which was quickly cleared with antibiotics. We always think the worst but hope for the best as patients. Hang in there and let us know what the doctor says. Crossing my fingers and everything else for it not to be serious.KRis
April 27, 2010 at 7:19 pm #37599leolangheimSpectatorRick,
I’m sorry to hear that. I had a few bouts of that while going through the protocol and they were awfully painful. I’d put them up there with kidney stones (which I also had the joy of experiencing during that time). I’m hoping a round of oral antibiotics kick it down for you.Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Really hope you get to feeling better Rick!
