Andie…..Dr. Vallee and Prof. Cunningham are oncologists whereas Prof. Lodge is a surgeon. All are experts in the field of Cholangiocarcinoma.
You can’t go wrong by consulting with either of the three mentioned professionals..
    Good luck,
    Marion

    Hi Andie,

I have no experience of the hospitals that you mention as my dad was treated at Ninewells in Dundee. However, the hospitals and the doctors you mention do have a good reputation with treating CC patients. Indeed Dr Valle and Prof David Cunningham were involved in the ABC-02 trial that ended last year.

If my dad had wanted a second opinion then I would have been happy for him to see any of the doctors that you mention. Let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

    Gavin

My Dad has just been diagnosed with CC. He is currently in RHH Dudley, waiting to be moved to the QE Birmingham for another stent to be fitted, as the first one hasn’t worked. We don’t know much about his case yet as RHH haven’t told us much even though we have asked lots of questions. Hopefully the QE will know more, they have seen Dad scan and said it is unoperable, for what reason we do not know. They also said it was 1.8cm and below the liver. Dad is 62 and still feels fit and healthy.

Whatever the QE say we want a second opinion, does anyone in the UK have dealings with a hospital that treats CC.

I’ve been searching the net and have found, Dr Valle, Christies, Manchester, Dr Peter Lodge, St James, Leeds and Prof David Cunningham, Royal Marsden London.

Any suggestions would be a great help, Thank you
