Thanks you so much. That’s very helpful .- to try trial when strongest. Yes, he has verified mutation for eligibility. That gives us a shot.

    No experience, but an opinion.

If he qualifies for the trial, go for it. If he goes to second line chemo (FOLFOX?) he may get to a point where he no longer qualifies (maybe due to low platelets). I originally thought that trials were the last resort, but there are many people here who had great results from trials. Plus, in some cases, certain chemos rule out some trials.

Do you have genomic testing results to support going for the FGFR trial or is it based on something else?

I assume they ruled out another resection.

Hello all- Does anyone have any experience in weighing these 2 options? After a short cycle of gem/cis following successful resection, my son’s cancer returned aggressively. We must make decision quickly– second line chemo or try the FGFR trial for which he qualifies… We’re told he could do trial and then go back to second line chemo… (but would be be strong enough?) or do chemo first to see if the aggressiveness can be halted and then if more stable disease, try the FGFR trial. Thanks for help.
