I had brachytherapy on my bile duct cancer at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, after fifteen days of twice daily radiation treatments. It shrank the tumor. This was followed by chemotherapy (Xeloda pills) until I was able to receive a liver transplant. You might go to the Mayo Clinic webpage: http://www.mayoclinic.org/rochester/alphalist-ll.html. Click on liver cancer, liver disease, or liver transplant. I’ve found the staff at Mayo to be very thorough and helpful in their approach to curing the cancer.

Sorry Jules I gave you the fax number. The phone is 602 252-2543 for Dr Cashman.

Mmmm I am wondering if you might call the DR we used when we returned to Phoenix from my husbands Whipple Surgery while we were out of town. The DR that followed up here happens to be Director of Liver Transplants at Banner Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.
He is young and fabulous and may be able to help. His name is James Cashman and his number is 602 252-3861 Maybe his office can give you some information.

i was very interested to read on this site under the ‘in the media’ section about brachytherapy “regression in liver tumors from 80 – 100%” – does anybody know if there is a clinical trial offering this anywhere? – does anyone know of any treatment centres anywhere in the world offering this treatment?

    thanks, Jules
