Charlea….. I just love to hear about these clean scans. Well, there is one for the bucket. And, the word “stable” has taken on a new meaning for me also. Keep it up.
Best wishes,
MarionOctober 8, 2010 at 9:25 pm #42688lainySpectatorDear Charlea, Congratulations on your Scans, that is wonderful news. I never have made a bucket list, could be very interesting. At least better than falling ‘in’ the bucket. Keep up your good work, and your positive attitude, it’s the best!

I just received results of my CAT scan. My last chemo was in June and in July I had the chemoembolization to the large tumor in the left lobe of my liver. The radiation oncologist said that I am stable with no increase in the tumor or the lymph nodes. It is hard to believe that I have had no growth of what seems to be a pretty aggressive cancer, at least from what I have been able to glean from the other posts. Have others had this experience? I still feel very well in spite of the right flank pain and still have no symptoms of any kind. I feel blessed…..

I am sure for someone else to be chiming in regarding the flank pain, but I wanted to point out to you some previous discussions re: this issue. You probably already know how to look up previous threads by using the google function, top right. Simply type in “flank pain” and I believe, Jeff had several postings on it. Most likely others will be able to respond to you also.
Good luck and best wishes,
MarionOctober 8, 2010 at 5:09 am #4137charleaSpectatorI have shared my diagnosis with many friends and was delighted to hear that one friend in my life drawing class had decided that she needed to implement her “bucket list” after our discussions at lunch about not knowing when we might be the next person to develop a life threatening illness. She bought herself a very nice RV and spent the next weeks contacting friends across the U.S. to set up a time for a visit. I was so happy to hear that she took a positive step based on my negative life change.
I have been doing very well until this last month or so when I started having right flank pain. I had a CAT scan done Tuesday as a preliminary to possibly having radiation so perhaps they will see a reason for the flank pain. Up until now I have had no pain whatsoever so I feel very fortunate, especially after reading some of the posts describing the efforts to reduce pain with this disease. Has anyone else experienced the flank pain? From what I understand, most people have abdominal pain. An ultrasound done by my regular doctor for an unrelated problem didn’t show anything. This disease seems so variable for everyone and treatment varies greatly as well. You all have taught me so much during the short time I have been visiting the site and I have been so impressed with the caring and loving support you offer even when you are suffering yourselves. Thank you for being there. -
