    Lauren:
My CA19-9 jumps up and down all the time. I had my prep surgery last April 2011 and it rose to over 1500. Usually it fluctuates between 100 and 400 or so. If she recently underwent any procedures, tho, it could mess with the numbers. And if the bilirubin was up, it could also play with that number. Usually when my CA number is up so is my bilirubin.
I hope the treatment works so she can get surgery on that #$%%^^^ tumor also!!!

Lauren…great news about the drop in bilirubin. In re: to the Ca 19-9’s, I would not pay too much attention. Physicians look for the trend, upward or downward over a period of time.
    Enjoy the good news
    Hugs,

Dear Laurkcp, Not sure what the higher CA means but so glad Mom is losing her shades of yellow! I know someone will be along to remark on the CA19. Hang in and be strong.

    Hi All

Mom wasnt feeling too well 11 days after her first treatment. I took her to the urgent care at Fox Chase and the doc was concerned about her billirubin rising and talked about putting in an external stent. Her tests came back and her billirubin dropped from 3.5 to 2.1! We were thrilled. Her eyes are getting whiter and so is her skin. I really hope the next few rounds will shrink this $#%#& tumor and she can have it removed.

Her labs came back fine except her CA 19-9 jumped from 171 to 2210! Any idea what that means?

    Lauren
