    It seems relatively low. But before surgery it was 88 so I never had a high number. Lisa I’ve been thinking of you so much and all you are going through with such grace. If you don’t mind I may contact you as I know you did your research. I still have your Caring bridge info and an e-mail about incisional hernias somehow a hernia has become minor.

    Kathy,
    Your change in number is so little, when I had a reoccurrence
    The number jumped by hundreds…..sending prayers your way

    Kathy….these markers do fluctuate. Physicians look for a continuous trend of the CA 19-9. I believe that it is way too early to worry about a recurrence.

    Yes. The scan is set for August 6 but the news today was very unsettling and I’m trying to get my nerves under control until then, hoping that others have experienced ups and down in the marker which don’t lead to a recurrence. As I said, I am trying to be optimistic. But am having trouble.

    Hi,
    Your last Ct scan was last Feb 2012 for the 16 month check up and is clean;
    but now it is almost 24 months since you diagnosis. And no matter what the result of the CA19-9 was, A CT scan is in order for the 2 year mark.
    good luck and
    God bless.

    My doctor has been away and I have not been feeling well although have been putting the blame on a large incisional hernia which needs repair. I finally went to my GP who did the test and it is elevated from 15 in December to 40 today. I am very worried that the cancer has come back. Is there any other reason for an elevated marker (you see we continue to hope).
    Kathy
