When I went into remission in March, my number was 111. June it was 117. I go back next month for more tests. Don’t worry about numbers, let the doctors do that. I know it is easier said then done. I am on pins and needles about a week before testing.

Just always keep a great attitude no matter what

Hi Michelle, it’s good that the docs are watching that number- it’s one of many diagnostic tools that can provide insight into changes within your system. At certain points during my Dad’s cc, his CA-19 numbers were upwards of 30,000….

    Wishing you the best.

I learned early on you cannot go by that number at all. My sister’s never got above 110 at any time, even at her worst and the cancer killed her in 10 months. I knew people whose numbers were in the thousands and did a lot better than she did. So don’t worry about that number!!!

    Michelle,
i dont know what to say. I hope the numbers go DOWN, not that 97 seems to high. Best of luck on your chemo.

I have been off chemo since mid June because of the radiation recall side effects. My CA 19-9 was 57 three weeks ago. Last week it was 97. I had my first chemo since the hospitialization yesterday. They are doing a lower dose of gemzar. They are doing 450ml and will track for any returning symptoms.
