Kris – I’m sorry for being a bit clueless here, but did you have a surgical resection or the whipple? I cannot remember. I know others that have had the whipple that have had extreme digestive issues post-surgery. Perhaps some of your current digestive issues are associated with fall-out from the surgery? I imagine that your system is hyper-sensitive to changes at this point, and agree with the others that eating US food may have a greater impact on your digestive tract.

American health care sucks. It’s unbelievable that simple tests end up costing so much.

    hey kris,

sounds like it may be related to your change in diet??????? you said it’s been around 2 months and that’s about when you arrived in the states.

perhaps it has to do with processed food, or just different food. is there any way that you could get your hands on some enzymes? i take a prescription drug called creon 10. although, i have to say i still suffer from gas issues.

i agree with marions, try bland food and see if that helps.

you poor thing. i admire you for traveling a great distance to spend time with your family.

    wishing you comfort,

Kris, I didn’t know you were still in SC. I’m so sorry you’re having such a rough time. Go ahead and whine and complain all you want. I wish I had more to offer – just a big ole’ hug. Let us know what your husband finds out from your doctor.

    Kris,

Sorry to hear that things are not going well for you right now. Hopefully the doctors will figure it all out & things will get better for you. Feel free to whine & complain all you want. We all need to do that now and again. I will be thinking of you & hoping that things improve for you soon. Let us know how you are doing. Take care.

Hi Kris. Wow! What a visit. Have you tried Mylenta. Its pretty gentle. But clearly that all doesn’t sound right. MAN! $800 for stools! What a load of B.S.!! (couldn’t resist) Do you think it could be a change in atmosphere or eating. I know when we travel I never feel the same as at home. Whine all you want thats what we are here for. Sure hope things calm down for you!

I have been back in the states since October…only one week after a clean scan and good bloodwork.

I had been suffering quite a bit from acid and pains in my neck from the acid. I took prilosec otc which gave me an upset stomach, loose bowels and painful gas. Went to my parents doctor, get sent to the hospital for stool tests (7 tests cost almost $800). Nothing was resolved. I vomited week old food. Doctor said no more prilosec but zantac instead. I have had terrible gas and bloating for almost 2 months now and I again vomitted up days old undigested food. I dont understand. I have been off prilosec for 7 weeks so this cant be from that anymore. Now even when I drink only water, I get bad acid reflux and bring up liquid when I burp.

I have about a month more in the States before heading back to Sweden. I think I will have to cut my trip short and head back home so I can get checked out. I cant imagine staying here and paying for doctors, scans, and bloodwork when stool tests cost almost $800. I am in alot of pain from the acid and I think I might be getting headaches from dehydration.

I am so worried. My husband went back to Sweden on Friday so I am going to have him contact my normal doctor and get an opinion. I am hoping it is nothing more than gerd or a hernia but of course I am now in panic mood. It hasnt been fun feeling and being sick for 2 months.

Sorry, just needed to whine and complain.

    Kris
