That is all dear Lainy, good to hear about the living guy in your life, you two are great, Pat
February 5, 2017 at 2:17 pm #94073lainySpectatorHi back at you, Pat. We enjoyed you so very much as well and to us you are a real hero! One thing you did not know was that when T and I moved to PHX Mel and his wife were our first friends. After about 5 years we just kind of drifted apart which happens in an adult community. I had not seen Mel in about 15 years but he called me when his wife passed as he needed someone to talk to. He used to call me his coach. A friendship reformed and here we are 10 months later. The best part is that since we were former couple friends I can talk about T and he can talk about J. No problem at all. And, there were times as a caregiver I wanted to share things at the tables that might be of help to others. We both also learned that you can love someone to the nth degree and think it will never happen again but the heart always has room for more. Good lesson. In fact he asked me a few weeks ago what I thought would happen when we joined J and T and I said, it will be one heck of a party! We both cracked up. The lesson is that there is still life out there and it is to be lived, no holds barred. BTW Mel thought you were great and enjoyed talking with you!l

Salt Lake was an interesting place with history lessons and old buildings , mountains (which we don’t have here in Ohio ) and I think they are beautiful to look at when it is not your normal backdrop, they are incredible. Mostly the people were the big attraction and most do the facebook thing and are poking their phones and I am just not there yet ( my smartphone is a juvenile amongst most other smartphones a volkswagon beetle you might say, and they just speed right by me lol .) Anyhow it was a fasinating educational fun time and I met so many ( Lainy your man is a great guy, talk more about him and less about Ted, just a thought ) It was wonderful meeting you both and I hope to see you both again sometime, take care, Pat
February 5, 2017 at 2:08 am #13004lainySpectatorWords have not been invented to say enough as to what we saw and heard. The people were so incredible, loving, caring and the passion just flowed. So many awesome CC family members under one roof were unbelievable. I know I am strong on adjectives but it just cannot be helped.
All of you who put this conference together did an outstanding job and even though lots of Kleenex was used I just have a good feeling that we are going to see more and more options to come for patients.
We sat at different tables for meals and just feel lucky to have met so many wonderful people. Speaking of which I cannot describe the feeling of meeting so many patients and caregivers I have posted with through the years.
Stacie, Marion, Lisa Layton, Lisa Crane, Melinda, Karen Driscoll, PattyC, Hercules, Matt, KrisJ, Donna Mayer, Kathy Wagner and so, so many more. Thank you all for all you do.
I truly believe there are new treatments right around the corner and I would be remiss if I did not mention all the wonderful younger members who are getting involved. Fantastic!
I will Never forget this awesome event and hope more of you can attend next year! -
