I too am sorry that SIRT didn’t result in any shrinkage :( Good luck with your chemo and I am wishing for shrinkage as a result!

    Hi Patti,

I am sorry to hear that your SIRT did not lead to shrinkage as we all hoped that it would. But I am glad to hear you say that you start your chemo on Thursday and my fingers are crossed for some good results for you. Great as well that you were able to get a vacation in before chemo starts too. Good luck for Thursday and please let us know how it goes.

    My best wishes to you,

    Gavin

    Hi Pattimelt,

I love the bible verse. I am sorry the SIRT did not show signs of shrinkage. Sometimes it takes some time to show a difference. In Lauren’s case, her Theraspheres didn’t really show on the scans that they worked, but once she had surgery all the tumors were dead!! So I will keep the faith that this is your case. I always have hope. Gem/Cis is a great chemo and helped Lauren a lot. Just try not to worry and make yourself sick. I think a positive outlook does wonders. I’m wishing you all the best.

    Love,
    -Pam

Good luck with your chemo on Thursday. Do you have an advocate through your insurance? Aetna has them. I sicced mine on the problem so I could transfer to Fox Chase Cancer Center. She got it through.
I’m so glad you got to enjoy a vacation! I hope you could put that all-consuming word aside occasionally, and enjoy as much time as you could.

I will begin chemotherapy on thursday. I will be getting Cisplatin/Gemzar.
My SIRT radiation did not show any shrinkage of my CC. I was also denied a referral to get a consultation with Mayo Clinic from my healthcare insurance. I was able to go on vacation before starting the chemo & had a wonderful 10 days feeling good the entire time. I still have not had any symptoms except for bad taste in my mouth. My anxiety is causing me more symptoms!! Now I just hope & pray the chemo will help shrink this dang alien in my liver!!
    Todays scripture from Isaiah 54:10
Though the mountains be shaken & the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
