I am living the same thing right now Jeff. Art is in the Hospital because he spiked a temp and at first they couldn’t find infection but had him on IV antibiotics. He has been there 4 days.(hopefully he will come home today) I completely empathize with you. It is a roller coaster. Hope all goes well and that Marc’s feels okay. Thses hospital stays can be really draining for both of you so hang in there!
March 25, 2010 at 4:10 pm #36658lainySpectatorJeff…it’s like being on a Merry-go-Round. Can you tell us what anti biotic he is on? Teddy has had a bad infection and while he was not hospitalized he is on Leviquin (sp). They thought that would take care of it. I am not so sure.
Does anyone know if Leviquin knocks you out? They never said it does but he is sleeping so much! I am stongly leaning toward calling the ONC today. Hope they knock what ever it is out of Marc quickly.March 25, 2010 at 4:09 pm #36657cherbourgSpectatorHang in there Jeff!
I know you and Marc must feel as if you are on a roller coaster! Hopefully the IV antibiotics will do the trick.
I’m also sorry to read about your brother. I know you must feel as if you’re getting blindsided at every turn!
You, Marc and both of your families are in my thoughts and prayers!
Hang in there!
Hugs to all,
Pam
March 25, 2010 at 3:23 pm #36656jeffgriederMemberMarc is back in the hospital. We went in yesterday afternoon to do his blood work to prepare for his chemo for today. His white blood cell count was elevated. So they are trying to find out why and already have him on IV antibiotics.
March 24, 2010 at 5:42 pm #36655lalupesSpectatorJeff, I’m so sorry to hear about your brother, too. You’ve got so much on your plate at the moment & I’m sending all my best wishes.
How’s Marc today?

When it rains, it pours, eh? So sorry to hear about your brother. Hopefully they can figure out what is causing Marc’s fevers and the right antibotic to stop it in it’s tracks!
Prayers coming Marc’s way and for your brother as well.
Go with God and KEEP KICKIN’ THAT cancer.

March 22, 2010 at 2:06 pm #36653jeffgriederMemberWe just got off the phone with Dr Tham and she said that all the tests came back normal and we still do not know what is causing the fevers. She is consulting with her colleagues to see what kind of antibiotics to put him on to help with the fevers. Luckily it does not look like he will have to go into the hospital for IV antibiotics for now. She is hoping to continue his chemo on Thursday.
Has anyone else gone through this before?

March 19, 2010 at 5:41 pm #36648jeffgriederMemberThanks everyone!
Though now we are all kinda down in the dumps again. My eldest brother was just diagnosed with some kind of throat cancer. They are planning surgery to remove it next month, but not sure if it has spread anywhere else. What next?
March 19, 2010 at 4:42 pm #36647devoncatSpectatorJeff,

March 19, 2010 at 12:07 pm #36646cherbourgSpectatorJeff!
Hang in there! It’s so hard to have a plan and not be able to execute it! I hope by the time you read this Marc will be feeling better.
I agree with Magic. We are seeing so many virus caused illnesses right now. Hopefully this is the case with Marc.
You both are in my thoughts and prayers!
Hugs to the both of you!
